Before You Hire a Home Vendor, Check Their License

When it comes to home repairs and improvements, who you hire matters just as much as what gets done. Hiring an unlicensed or uninsured contractor can leave you financially responsible if something goes wrong and it happens more often than people realize. Before hiring anyone, always verify their license through the California State License Board and confirm they carry both general liability and workers compensation insurance. Also, make sure they're licensed for the scope of work. For example, in California, roofing contractors are required to hold a C39 license. Check to see if it's a C39 license. The good news? I have done some of the legwork for you. My vendor referrals I send to you include contact information and the ability to verify their CSLB license number directly from my page. No searching required. As always, neither Compass nor I have a financial interest in any vendor I refer and homeowners should conduct their own research and satisfy themselves as to all vendor qualifications, insurance coverage, and fee structures These are simply professionals I trust and want to pass along to you.
